I focus on delivering excellent compassionate dermatology care with a focus on the whole patient. I have a big passion for managing complex dermatologic skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, skin lymphomas, and chronic itchy skin in general.

Surgical

I am a big proponent of preventive care. Early detection and surgical removal of skin cancer is essential. Malignant melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer. When detected early and treated appropriately by a dermatologist, the survival rate is 98 %. Dermatologists are trained in providing thorough skin cancer screening exams to give you the best chance of early detection of any skin cancer.

Meet Dr. Kartono

Francisca Kartono, DO, FAOCD, FAAD

Francisca Kartono, DO, is a board certified and fellowship trained dermatologist with a huge passion for anything dermatology including general medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology in Southeast Michigan. Dr. Kartono grew up between Indonesia and Belgium, and graduated with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry before attending Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, for osteopathic medical school training. She moved to Michigan, where she completed an internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and a dermatology residency at Botsford and Pontiac Osteopathic hospitals through Michigan State University. Committed to continuing her education, Dr. Kartono pursued a fellowship at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, with a focus on cutaneous lymphoma. She served as an assistant clinical professor in dermatology at the Wexner Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. Dr. Kartono enjoys educating others in the dermatology field. She has articles in numerous dermatology publications, lectures at national meetings, local community groups, and continues to be involved with resident teaching and clinical trials in the field of Dermatology. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. After spending time in Michigan for her internship and residency, Dr. Kartono made the state her permanent home. Dr. Kartono lives with her husband and two very energetic young boys

Jamie Szkodzinski PA-C

PHYSICAN ASSISTANT
Jamie is a board certified Physician Assistant (PA) who joined MI Skin Center in 2022 to aid Dr. Kartono with her rapidly growing dermatology practice! She grew up in Indiana and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biology with Chemistry and Psychology minors from Indiana University- Bloomington. There, she was vice president of the Pre-PA program as well as vice president of her sorority, Delta Zeta. In 2014, Jamie graduated from Lincoln Memorial University’s Physician Assistant program in Tennessee. She was active as a student ambassador helping to mentor incoming PA students. Jamie has spent most of her professional career in Michigan, where, after a move to Indiana and back, she is happy to finally have her roots planted in South Lyon. When she is not at work, Jamie loves to spend time with her husband, dog and three wild boys. She speaks fluent Spiderman, Sonic the hedgehog, construction trucks and is currently working on her hockey lingo. In the world of dermatology, Jamie enjoys the variety of patient conditions she sees each day. She is especially thrilled to be learning from Dr. Kartono in order to continue her exemplary standards for patient care!
Sharyn Perrone

NURSE PRACTIONER
Sharyn Perrone is a board certified Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing dermatology in Michigan for the past 5 ½ years. Sharyn attended the University of Michigan where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2014 and continued on to earn her Master’s of Nursing in 2017. After graduating, she completed an in-depth training program in Dermatology. Her main focus is treating adolescents through geriatrics, with extensive knowledge in skin conditions including acne, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and various other acute and chronic skin concerns. She also has hands-on-experience in the treatment of precancerous and cancerous skin lesions.
As a long time Northville resident, Sharyn is excited to be joining Dr. Kartono’s team and rapidly growing practice.
She will begin accepting new patient’s in MARCH 2024.
Pamela Moslow

ESTHETICIAN
Pamela has been a licensed aesthetician for twelve years who thoroughly enjoys helping others feel better in their skin! She graduated from The Salon Professional Academy, located in the Western New York area, her hometown. She relocated to Michigan five years ago, and truly enjoys the Northville and Plymouth area! She has vast experience in the aesthetics world working in luxury spas, medical offices of plastic surgery and an award-winning med-spa. Pamela has a passion for caring for others and helping them to feel confident and beautiful.
