Founder & Dermatologist

Francisca Kartono, DO, is a board certified and fellowship trained dermatologist with a huge passion for anything dermatology including general medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology in Southeast Michigan. Dr. Kartono grew up between Indonesia and Belgium, and graduated with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry before attending Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, for osteopathic medical school training. She moved to Michigan, where she completed an internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and a dermatology residency at Botsford and Pontiac Osteopathic hospitals through Michigan State University. Committed to continuing her education, Dr. Kartono pursued a fellowship at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, with a focus on cutaneous lymphoma. She served as an assistant clinical professor in dermatology at the Wexner Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. Dr. Kartono enjoys educating others in the dermatology field. She has articles in numerous dermatology publications, lectures at national meetings, local community groups, and continues to be involved with resident teaching and clinical trials in the field of Dermatology. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. After spending time in Michigan for her internship and residency, Dr. Kartono made the state her permanent home. Dr. Kartono lives with her husband and two very energetic young boys.

Nurse Practitioner

Sharyn Perrone is a board certified Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing dermatology in Michigan since 2018. Sharyn attended the University of Michigan where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2014 and continued on to earn her Master’s of Nursing in 2017. After graduating, she completed an in-depth training program in Dermatology. Her main focus is treating adolescents through geriatrics, with extensive knowledge in skin conditions including acne, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and various other acute and chronic skin concerns. She also has hands-on-experience in the treatment of precancerous and cancerous skin lesions.

Sharyn joined MI Skin Center in 2024, and as a long time Northville resident, is excited to be joining Dr. Kartono’s team offering care to her home community!

Dermatologist & Fellowship Trained Mohs Surgeon

Dr. Jennifer Vermeesch, DO is a double board certified dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs micrographic surgeon.  She was born and raised in mid-Michigan and attended the University of Michigan where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in mechanical engineering. She then attended Michigan State University for medical school and was awarded the Carnegie Medal for Academic Excellence. She completed her dermatology residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor where she served as chief resident during her final year. She then continued her training at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital by completing a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgeons.

Aside from medicine, Dr. Vermeesch enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking and playing sports.

Licensed Esthetician

Pamela has been a licensed aesthetician since 2009 who thoroughly enjoys helping others feel better in their skin! She graduated from The Salon Professional Academy, located in the Western New York area, her hometown. She relocated to Michigan in 2016, and truly enjoys the Northville and Plymouth area. She has vast experience in the aesthetics world working in luxury spas, medical offices of plastic surgery and an award-winning med-spa. Pamela has a passion for caring for others and helping them to feel confident and beautiful.

Laser Technician

With over 25 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant, including more than eight years specializing in dermatology, Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her patients. She has worked in general medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology, including assisting with advanced procedures like Mohs micrographic surgery. Melissa currently provides care for patients managing medical conditions such as vitiligo, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis through phototherapy, while also treating precancerous skin lesions with photodynamic light therapy (PDT). In addition, she administers biologic injectable medications and is highly skilled in cosmetic procedures such as Aerolase laser treatments, SkinPen Microneedling, Chemical Peels, and Emsculpt for body contouring.

Outside of the office, Melissa enjoys spending time outdoors and visiting the Upper Peninsula with her family and friends. She is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, helping her patients achieve healthier, more confident skin.
